(firmware modification allows you to play backup discs)
- For all of the latest dvd-drive firmware news visit teamjungle on twitter:

- You can find the software “jungleflasher” required to flash the firmware here:

- If you have trouble locating files or just want to browse what’s available I highly recommend you do a google search for “auto xbins”. You will probably get a virus warning saying it’s a “ircbrute” because it is, it will automagically connect you to an irc channel, and then on to xbins ftp server.
- If you have no idea what you’re doing at all then do another google search for “texbook’s xbox 360″ it’s a very easy to follow step by step guide.

JTAG MOD

(the jtag mod allows you to run unsigned or “homebrew” code on your xbox 360)

This requires soldering skills and some additional resistors and diodes as well as a xbox 360 running an older dashboard that is vulnerable.

Mr. XXX,
My XBOX360 has 3 red lights blinking when I power up my XBox.
Do you have any video’s or links that can help me fix this?
Thanks

Goose,
Here’s a complete list of xbox 360 error codes and their descriptions:
http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/Xbox-360-error-codes.htm
Depending on the error code, you will probably need to attempt a RROD or RedRingOfDeath fix. There’s several tips / tricks out there ranging from replacing the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu, to drilling the case and replacing what’s referred to as the x-clamps that hold the heat sinks in place. Yet another fix is referred to as the “3 penny fix” where you place 3 pennys under the ram chips in order to place pressure on the board in an attempt to place pressure on the chips and cause better contact. Lastly some people have reported success by stripping down the motherboard of your 360 and waving a heatgun over the affected area in an attempt to reheat / reflow the solder.
The truth of the matter is that the original 360 designs were flawed and you have a 50/50 chance of long term success.
If you’re still feeling brave and want to venture into the world of 360 repairs…. try these links:
This one if for x-clamp replacement:

This is a link to a “kit” that is being sold by one of the xbox 360 hacking teams, it’s a triple-whammie attempt to replace the thermal paste, replace the x-clamp and to shim the ram chips all in one little package and heck they even throw in the screwdrivers:

ONE FINAL NOTE: NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU GOOGLE THE TOPIC, REGARDLESS OF WHAT WEBSITE YOU FIND, NEVER PAY FOR A XBOX REPAIR GUIDE! THEY ARE JUST PDF FILES OF FREE IMFORMATION AND YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED
